TEST...
If you have questions about what the Stanley numbers are, you can
look the planes up on Blood&Gore:
https://www.supertool.com/StanleyBG/stan0.htm
Sometimes, emails to/from me are vectored to some cyber black
hole, never reaching their destination. I answer all emails, so if
you haven't heard from me, your/my email is likely having high tea
in said black hole, never to be heard from, so please try again.
Please email me prior to sending money so that you can be sure
the item is still up for grabs. Also, prices do not include shipping,
which is the amount that it takes to go from me to you via the US
Post Office.
This list goes out to many people, normally on the first of the
month (unless otherwise noted above). So, if you see something you
want, it's the quickest finger on the trigger that wins the duel.
Some folks become upset that they miss out on a tool. I wish I had
lots of this stuff many times over so I can satisfy the demand, but
that is normally not the case. Some of it does have duplicates here,
and if so, I will state that in my reply to you.
Also, due to the nature of selling over the wires, tools are sold
on a first come, first serve basis. The first person to say "I'll
take it", gets it. I have to operate this way as some will take a
few days to get back to me with their interest in a particular item,
and it's unfair to keep others waiting who are willing to buy the
item immediately.
I reserve the right to correct typographical errors after the list
goes out. I rarely make them, but when I do they can be major ones.
If you're the kind of person who puts a straightedge to the sole of
a #40, to check it for flatness, or who tosses a plane on a scale to
weigh it against what it states in the Stanley catalogs, you'll need
to take your business elsewhere. I'll wish you luck finding perfection
in something that was never made, nor intended to be, perfect. You guys
know who you are, and it's best for both of us that our paths not cross.
Remember, you don't have to be a connoisseur (did I spell that
correctly) to shop here. You can be a wirehead, a metalhead, a propeller-
head, a deadhead, a cokehead, or even a knuckle dragging oaf, just like
me, to shop here, as long as your dinero is green.
Thanks for shopping, and remember that no letters or words were
injured when writing this list...
FEATURED TOOL OF THE MONTH
******** **** ** *** *****
Extremely rare Yankee plough plane by S.Partridge/In Mendon;
only a very small number of examples of any kind have sur-
faced, this ca.Revolutionary War era maker worked southeast
of Worcester, MA, it's only the second I've owned, and this
list is sent from a location not too far from Mendon, both
offer proof of this maker's limited output; in a good state
of preservation, noting one thumb screw as a replacement, the
wedge is the proper profile and has age, it's impossible to
say whether it's original or an early replacement; Partridge
made the fence different from the style used farther east of
his location - it's not molded but instead is finished with
broad chamfers along its length and at the the ends; clear
maker mark, no owner mark, solid, a check in the front arm
that the oversize rivet solidly secured; free of the common
'maladies' that infect this style of plane made 250 years

WOOD PLANES
**** ******
WP1 Sandusky Tool Co. No.89 moving filister with fully boxed
shoulder and dovetail nicker to score the grain prior to
the skewed cutter doing its thing; as found, free of alter-
ation, dark patina, it's the ideal plane for cutting a
rabbet in any grain direction, the stop sets the depth and
fence sets the width; top:
https://www.supertool.com/forsale/aug/t4.jpeg $120.00
WP2 Yellow birch double iron sash plane; round chamfers, it
simultaneously cuts the classic square ovolo profile and the
rabbet for the glass; never altered or cleaned, the shoulder
is boxed with lignum; a nice ca.1800 plane with a profession-
ally made quality about it; bottom:

https://www.supertool.com/forsale/aug/t4a.jpeg $120.00
WP3 Toted pair of 7/8" match planes by J.Kellogg; steel plated
fences for better wear and accuracy, they do what the #48
plane does but for less money; as found, one wedge's finial

WP5 3/4" dado by Varvill/York; an uncommon width when this one
was made during the early 1800's, it's now the one most in
demand today; a harmless chip in sole, behind the iron, all
it needs is a honing; bottom:
https://www.supertool.com/forsale/aug/t19.jpeg $75.00
WP6 Without a doubt the finest skewed half-set of hollows and
rounds offered on this list and what I've seen in active
tooling for over 40 years; #2's through #18's, most have
never been used other than an owner stamping his name in
the toe; manufactured in the UK, they have no maker mark
as they likely were sold to a retailer to put its mark on
them, which never happened; a #1 is included, it had to be
a custom order; free of modification, the irons glisten
though there are some unavoidable blooms of rust that
develop from sitting idle, higher carbon steel likes to do
that, all of it will easily clean; a rare opportunity to
acquire a fine working set at a cost roughly one-third the
price offered by modern makers:
https://www.supertool.com/forsale/aug/t21.jpeg $1185.00
WP7 Pair of earlier English snipe bills; flat chamfers, fully
boxed soles, one with some stable cracks (as often happens

WP9 ca.1800 P.Harty 1/4" astragal; a maker logged in AWP, it
has flat chamfers on the 9 1/2" long beech body; in fine,
as found condition, free of alteration, early initials
owner mark, it has a central NH look to it; mark is read-
able, I wasn't able to get a good image of it; bottom left:
https://www.supertool.com/forsale/aug/t23.jpeg $185.00
WP10 G.Davis (English maker) 1/2" ogee; good proportions, it
sat idle for over 100 years, free of alteration, dark

WP15 M.Copeland 1 1/2" (width of cut) reverse ogee and fillet;
fine condition, with owner mark, it saw careful use:

WP16 Unused Old Street Tools moving fillister; dated 2012, no
longer in business, finely made, better than what the
originals were, lignum boxed shoulder, and a nice blend
of 18th and 19th century features; left:
https://www.supertool.com/forsale/aug/t44.jpeg $685.00
WP17 Clark&Williams beech smoothing plane; dated 2000, no longer
in business, 18th century features, single iron steeply
pitched, it was used a couple times, an insignificant

mouth barely needs mentioning; right:
https://www.supertool.com/forsale/aug/t44.jpeg $355.00
WP18 22" razee jointer made of live oak; finely made and little
used, it's the pattern favored by shipwrights who made their
own bench planes; 22" long with 1 7/8" double iron by
Moulson, it can be honed and used as is; closed tote looks
to be mahogany, wedge perhaps cherry, the mixing of woods
is typical on these planes; top:
https://www.supertool.com/forsale/aug/t46.jpeg $155.00
WP19 C.W.Holden adjustable fence molding plane; an odd one of a
kind I haven't seen before, it may be for working the side
of a handrail where the fence allows for a wider cut of the
ogee profile; in fine shape, free of modification, little
used, Holden was a New Haven, CT maker, this likely was a
special order; the adjustable handrail planes I've seen
resemble smoothing planes; top:

have the same number and sizes of cutters, it never saw
much use as most of the decal remains on the main casting;
a worker, it also may prove good therapy when bored by

their original wooden box, a longer than usual slip stone,
four Spiderco stones in their pouch, an earlier natural
stone in an owner made hinged box, and some others; all in
fine user condition, some with a musty order, but if you're
into sniffing rocks, you may need help; top pile:

MS86 Rare new old stock Pike Army and Navy hone and strop in the
original box; unused, ca.WWI era, it's uncommon in any con-
